What is Foldoria?
A local-first Windows 11 desktop prototype that represents folders and files as persistent objects in navigable 3D worlds.
Does Foldoria move my existing files?
No. Registered external sources remain where they are and are read-only. Ordinary spatial actions change Foldoria metadata only.
What is the Foldoria managed folder?
Documents\Foldoria is a separate canonical root where explicit, confirmed file operations may occur after Rust revalidates the boundary.
Can I download the app?
The current Windows build and commercial download information are available at getfoldoria.com. It remains a working prototype with outstanding Windows release and acceptance work.
Does it need an account or internet connection?
No account exists. Local worlds work offline. Network access is limited to explicit actions for recognized YouTube media, linked public worlds, downloads from those worlds, and bounded public page assets used only after a missing conventional world is confirmed.
What happens when a website has no index.foldoria?
If its public 2D page exists, the desktop app can create a temporary read-only room from one inert page, selected CSS and signature-validated public HTTPS imagery, PDF, audio and video. H1/H2 text starts near the front, content continues toward the footer, primary navigation becomes side-aisle doors, and other links become posters. Linked pages are not crawled and scripts, forms, login, cookies and fonts stay inactive. Open 2D page opens the source page externally; Source code (.json) saves the validated generated layout.
Is the browser 3D page the desktop app?
No. It is an experimental, isolated website tour. It cannot see local files and does not reproduce the complete desktop feature set.
